The mission of the church reflects the mission of Jesus to teach, preach, heal, and forgive. Through these acts, Jesus shares the good news of salvation and invites all people to share in the life and love of God. The task of handing on the Gospel is entrusted to the whole community, who by word and example, form young and new members in the way of the Gospel. St. John Vianney’s Faith Formation assists parents in teaching the basics of faith through liturgical experience, instruction, and faith formation, assists individuals to develop as believers, and assists with the ongoing spiritual formation of the whole community.
Welcome to a new year of Catholic Faith Formation Classes!
Our new year will kick off on Sunday, September 11, after the 8:30 Mass. This year our theme is The Gospel for All Ages. We are excited to announce that we are expanding our offerings to include opportunities for Faith Formation for adults as well.
Following Mass on Sunday mornings, refreshments will be served at 9:30, followed by a Gospel Reflection at 9:45. We do ask that parents are a part of the refreshment and Gospel Reflection activities each week. At 10:00, attendees will then split into age-appropriate groups from 10:00-11:00.
While the youth are in their classes upstairs, adults will have the opportunity to watch and discuss of a video series (We are starting with The Chosen) or to participate in a more traditional small group scripture study focused on the Sunday Readings.
Youth in Pre-school through 8th grade will continue using Pflaum Gospel Weeklies. Pre-school classes will continue to meet on Sundays during the 8:30 Mass. Kindergarten through 8th grades will meet from 9:30-11:00.
SACRAMENTAL PREP:
**2nd graders will prepare for and receive First Reconciliation.
**3rd graders will prepare for and receive both Confirmation and First Communion.
An enrollment fee of $50.00 for the 1st child or a total of $100 for a family registering 2 or more children will be due on the first day of class (Sunday, September 11th).. If you are unable to make your payment online, checks may be made payable to St. John Vianney Parish and turned in on Sunday, September 11. Please contact the parish office if the enrollment fee is burdensome to your family.
